Attendee tips for the upcoming restaurant and foodservice industry trade show season

There are a number of opportunities to attend industry-related trade shows this season. Shows can consume our time and energy, and can either leave us with nothing but sore feet or be a host of energizing thoughts. Let’s opt for the latter and help you on your way to finding new products, great ideas, solve a concern or in some way be truly worth the time you invest.

Ask your team if there is anything they want you to look for prior to setting out for the show. Look for new products, fresh ideas, and other ways of using what you may already have or a different way of presenting it. You can also very efficiently research and compare products, equipment and services. Seek out and gain knowledge as though you’re on a mission. Converse with resources who can answer your questions.

Be sure to dedicate the proper amount of time, and if you go in a group, spread out. You can be certain everyone will see something different, attend a unique seminar or be on hand for a demonstration you might miss.

Don’t be shy and keep an open mind. Trade shows can be the very place where new trends begin and concepts are introduced for the first time. After you return, be sure to inspire your team and share what you learned through photos, literature and your perspective. Then it is time well invested.
