Like a spiked latte, but better! The Hyper Katt Martini beer cocktail

One of the latest trends to hit cities like Toronto and New York is the "beer cocktail". Ontario craft beer, with its fresh, full flavour and range of styles, makes a perfect ingredient for trendy new beer cocktails. Beer-tenders across North America are beginning to take notice and experiment with new recipes in bars and restaurants.

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso*
  • 1oz. coffee liqueur
  • 2oz Durham County Black Katt Stout
  • Slash of cream
  • Garnish with Chocolate Syrup

Directions:

  1. Have fridge-chilled Chocolate Syrup ready in a squeeze bottle.
  2. Make an espresso, pour it inside a metal martini tumbler and set tumbler aside in a freezer or on ice to cool.
  3. In a glass tumbler, pour Durham County Black Katt Stout, coffee liqueur and cream over ice.
  4. Have a chilled martini glass, and create a swirl inside the glass with the chilled chocolate syrup.
  5. Join the espresso with the iced liquids and shake vigorously.
  6. Pour into the martini glass.

*To make a Sleepy Katt Martini, use decaf espresso.
